Peux-tu nous montrer ta fenêtre de configuration de Jack (Jack Settings) dans Cadence?
Utilises-tu FFADOmixer sans problème?

Bonjour Minimoineau,

Voici donc la configuration dans cadence :

En cherchant sur le net j'ai vu l'utilisation de la commande "lspci". Si j'ai bien compris elle permet de lister ce qui est connecté sur les ports pci et pcie. Je mets une capture au cas où ça puisse aider :

Toujours si je comprends bien la carte est bien reconnue.Ce qui m'intrigue c'est qu'il est marqué IEEE-1394B alors qu'il y a aussi une connection 1394a.

Autre info, FFADO lancé dans une console me retourne ceci :

Je viens de constater ceci :

Lorsque je désactive le lancement automatique au démarrage de jack dans cadence et que je lance Ffado-mixer la communication se fait avec la carte son. Dès que je lance jack la communication se coupe et j'ai ceci dans le terminal :

Alors normalement, l'ordre logique avec les cartes Firewire c'est de lancer FFADOmixer en premier, puis Jack.

Mais on avance. Tu as bien fait de désactiver le lancement automatique de Jack, on y verra plus clair.

Essaye de démarrer Jack avec le pilote Alsa sur ta carte firewire car il est possible qu'elle soit prise en charge directement, et sans passer par FFADOmixer (si c'est le cas, elle sera présente dans le menu "Device/Interface" de l'onglet "Driver" en sélectionnant Alsa comme pilote).

J'ai donc choisi Alsa comme pilote. dans le menu "Device/Interface" trois possibilité :

- hw:Generic,0 ALC892 Analog
- hw:Generic,0 ALC892 Digital
- hw:0

J'ai sélectionné hw:0, lancé jack qui démarre mais aucune communication avec la carte.

Lorsque Jack est lancé :

qu'as-tu comme connexions par exemple si tu lances Catia?
que te renvoie les logs de Jack? (tout ça se trouve dans l'onglet "tools" de Cadence).

Quand la carte est activé, deux leds s'allument, une marquée "fw" l'autre "lkd". Or elles restent éteintes et si je lance hydrogène par exemple, aucun son en sortie.

Alors si tu peux purger les logs avant de les copier, ça sera plus lisible, car tu viens de poster les logs de plusieurs démarrages successifs de Jack!😊
Précise aussi avec quels réglages de Jack tu démarres s'il te plaît.

Un truc me viens à l'esprit : as-tu bien installé les paquets "jackd2-firewire"?

Et que te renvoie ffado-mixer lorsque tu le lances avant jack?

Salut Dan!
Super, FFADOmixer démarre et semble reconnaître ta carte avec toutes tes entrées/sorties!😊
A partir de là, je navigue à vue car je ne connais pas cette interface, mais je possède une carte Firewire aussi, alors je vais me baser sur ma config.

Est-ce que la fenêtre du mixer ffado te permet de sélectionner la fréquence d'échantillonnage de ta carte (sample rate), ou est-ce que tu as un sélecteur directement sur l'interface?

Dans tous les cas, il faut faire en sorte d'avoir la même dans les réglages de Jack (via Cadence).

Une fois FFADOmixer démarré, tente de démarrer Jack sur le pilote firewire avec la bonne fréquence d'échantillonnage et renvoie nous les logs pour voir.

On approche du but!😉

Tu dis que tu peux choisir le "Clock Source" dans FFADOmixer. As-tu quelque chose du genre "Internal Clock"?
Essaye de modifier ça pour voir si la connexion tient... 😕

Peux-tu vérifier que tu appartiens bien au groupe audio avec l'utilitaire "utilisateurs et groupes" d'Ubuntu. C'est très important et ça peut régler bien des soucis! On aurait peut-être du commencer par là... 😡

Prend cinq minutes pour lire cette page
Car si tu as installé un noyau temps réel (?) il faut que le système y ait accès.

Je sais que ça peut paraître compliqué et un peu rébarbatif, mais ces optimisations sont importantes à faire dans une distribution généraliste comme Ubuntu. Cela dit, c'est plutôt instructif!😉

Note que si tu veux éviter tout ça, tu peux installer une distribution déjà optimisée comme Librazik ou UbuntuStudio...

Si tu as une partition libre, tu peux tenter le coup. C'est pas sur à 100%, mais cette distribution est vraiment au top question optimisation pour l'audio, et on n'aura plus à chercher de ce côté.
En plus, pas mal de gens utilisent cette distribution sur LinuxMAO, et en plus son développeur (Olinuxx pour ne pas le nommer!) est aussi l'admin de ce site!

Ce qui est sur, c'est que ta carte son est déjà utilisée par d'autres avec succès sous linux😊. J'ai lu pas mal te trucs sur le net et c'est dur de faire la part des choses

Je ne pense pas qu'il y ait de soucis avec ta carte firewire. C'est un protocole plutôt bien supporté me semble-t-il.
Mes compétences restent limitées à mes propres expériences, et là je commence à sècher... Mais je continue de réfléchir (pas du genre à lacher 🙀!!!)

J'ai mis un petit moment pour la mienne, et maintenant elle fonctionne au poil!😉

Pour apporter quelque précisions, j'ai lu sur plusieurs sites que les cartes Saffire sont bien prises en charge par Alsa.
A creuser donc...

Perso, dans des cas similaires, la première chose que je vérifie est l'alimentation de la carte. Une alimentation un peu fatiguée ou faiblarde peut poser ce genre de soucis. Même simplement un connecteur un peu oxydé ou abîmé.

Je viens de tomber sur cette page qui parle de l'installation d'une Saffire Pro 40 (qui fait partie de la même série que la pro 26).

C'est un peu ancien, mais assez détaillé, et j'ai noté quelques différences avec ce qu'on a tenté :

Ici on utilise jackd1, jack1-firewire et pas jack2
on lance ffado-dbus-server AVANT ffado-mixer, puis il lance Jack sur le pilote firewire.

Ça peut peut-être marcher...😉

@bda : Tu as tout-à-fait raison, contrôler alim et câbles, on ne le fait jamais assez 😊!
